Some AC facts to help you get the best out of your system:
✔ By leaving doors and windows open up to 50% of air conditioning energy costs are wasted
✔ Setting an air conditioner to a low temperature does not make the unit cool the room faster. Never set the thermostat at a temperature below what you require it to maintain, typically 24-25°C.
✔ Each degree of extra heating in winter or cooling in summer will increase energy consumption by 5-10 per cent. Set the thermostat to 20° in winter and 25° in summer. Source: Origin Energy.
